Worsbrough Common Primary School is a larger than average sized primary school with 468 pupils on role. We have a 52 place nursery for children from the age of three. The school has a specialist resourced provision which caters for 10 pupils who have language and communication needs. School attendance target is 97%. Our current school priorities are improving outcomes, particularly in reading and writing to bring them inline with national averages. School are also working to improve whole school attendance.
This morning the children were exploring the woods and finding different things on their scavenger hunt. They were also practising asking for help when they needed it.
We have to be extra careful when we go to the woods on very hot days. We monitor the temperature and make sure we have drinks with us to keep hydrated The woods is probably the coolest place in school because of the shade and there is usually a little breeze in some areas. Class 1 and class 4 enjoyed time in the woods today.
