F2-weekly-overview

Last week was jam packed. Both classes loved their trips to The Rainbow Factory, where they got to see the traditional tales we’ve been learning about brought to life.

Both classes had their height and weight measured and there was lots of talk about comparing our heights.

Some children made a special trip to High stone Mews to have lunch with the care home residents. Everyone was so happy but no one more than Rhubarb the school dog!

This week we our rounding off our traditional tales topic and we have a feeling there might be trouble ahead for some of our favourite characters.

In maths we are continuing to look at addition and subtraction.

In phonics our focus is on blending phonemes to make words and parent feedback tells us that the children are using their blending skills really well in home reading.

Finally thank you so very much for all of the reading you have been doing at home, we can really see your influence in class. The children who read 4 or more times this week enjoyed a craft session with Miss Booth!

Mrs Green

Year 1 Teacher

I'm Mrs Green and I joined WCPS in September 2019. I am passionate about Early years and can usually be found on the floor with our super 5 and 6 year olds. This year I have moved to teach in Year one! When I'm not at school I'll be with my children and dog on a muddy walk.
