Knife safety and respect

We used knives this morning. Some of the children said they were a little scared. We talked about this and explored what was scary and also that they didn’t have to use them. When we went to the woods we did our tool talk. It explains how we use the knife safely. Everyone wanted to try after the tool talk. I was impressed with how they started to develop the skill of whittling wood!
