Nursery Rhymes

Did you know that if a child knows eight nursery rhymes or poems by the time they are four years old they are usually among the best readers and spellers in class by the time they reach y3? In nursery we love to sing nursery rhymes and are learning lots of poems. Head over to our twitter page to see some videos of children singing their favourite Nursery Rhyme.

Each week we also learn a new poem to recite. As your child to say the chop chop poem, pointy hat or wise old owl and see if they can do the whole poem. If you can take a video and add it to their learning journey on early essence don’t forget you will earn a raffle ticket for the termly draw.

EYFS Leader & Assistant Headteacher

Hi I’m Mrs Evans. This is my sixth year working in foundation stage and I love it! When I’m not at school I spend my time with my two daughters. We like to go to the caravan at the weekends especially when it’s raining so that we can get cosy and play lots of board games!
