RISKY STUFF

On Thursday afternoon a small group came to the woods with me. We got chatting about school and taking risks.

We were doing somw whittling with sharp knives, that’s risky. The girls were confident to give it a go, and they picked it up really well and were very safe. We talked about how sometimes it can feel daunting to put your hand up in class to answer a question in case you get it wrong. We talked about how things like that was also taking a risk.

Look at these pictures – getting into that hammock also came with some risks! Lots of laughs too!

Forest School Practitioner

I started work as an SEND teacher and I... scratch that...As one of the children once told me "You're just Gilly who plays out with us and helps us to be safe." I'm sometimes a pirate, sometimes a Viking, sometimes the crazy story teller but I always aim to make it fun. I'm just Gilly and Forest School is my jam!
