Rock Candies and habitats

Year 4 have been learning about habitats in science.

This week we made links to that learning.

We heard about a rare field guide that had be discovered. It was really old and was about it a species that is believed to be extinct.

The species name is Rock Candies. We found out that there were different breeds within that species and they had different features and characteristics.

The children picked out key points from the texts and thought about what would be important considerations for their chosen rock candy’s habitat.

The children were amazing. Not only with the activity but they were so kind and thoughtful to each other.

Forest School Practitioner

I started work as an SEND teacher and I... scratch that...As one of the children once told me "You're just Gilly who plays out with us and helps us to be safe." I'm sometimes a pirate, sometimes a Viking, sometimes the crazy story teller but I always aim to make it fun. I'm just Gilly and Forest School is my jam!
