Thursday home learning

Good morning. I have really enjoyed seeing all of the home learning which has been happening this week. There are lots of faces I haven’t seen yet. Please try to post on Early Essence at least once a week!

Activity 1 – Number hunt in Jelly

Its time to get messy. Can you find numbers or objects in Jelly? For this activity you will need tongs, plastic numbers or objects if you don’t have numbers. (this might take a while to set up!)

First, spread out some plastic numbers in jelly layers. When it’s all set, give out some tongs to children and show them how to pick up the numbers from the wiggly substance (and practice their fine motor skills along the way!). If you don’t have plastic numbers use other objects and children can count them out. This sensory play is a great way of sneaking in number recognition to something fun and engaging for the children.

Activity 2 Listen to the story below – Please Please Bees

https://www.storylineonline.net/books/please-please-bees/

In this story the bear says he is selfish. What do you think this word means?

Can you think of ways that you can be helpful around the house?

Activity 3 – Bug Hotel

Can you make a bug hotel to help the insect in your garden?

Here is a link for a step by step guide of how to do this.

Have a great day!

Mrs Evans

EYFS Leader & Assistant Headteacher

Hi I’m Mrs Evans. This is my sixth year working in foundation stage and I love it! When I’m not at school I spend my time with my two daughters. We like to go to the caravan at the weekends especially when it’s raining so that we can get cosy and play lots of board games!
