Week 8

We cannot believe we have reached the last week of half term.

This half term our children have settled into ‘big’ school, tried hard to learn to write their names, recognise numbers to 10 and begin to learn to read. Our children have also learned a lot about hand washing, sharing, making new relationships, expressing opinions, trying new things and overall becoming more independent.

We are so proud of them and so grateful for all of the support from home.

In this last week we will recap on our phase 2 phonics phonemes – satpinmdgock ck rbhlf ll ff

And continue our work on composition of numbers to 5.

Our literacy focus will be on the book Pumpkin Soup… Watch this space for our attempts at cooking.

If you haven’t arranged a parents evening call yet please ask for one this week.

Mrs Green

Year 1 Teacher

I'm Mrs Green and I joined WCPS in September 2019. I am passionate about Early years and can usually be found on the floor with our super 5 and 6 year olds. This year I have moved to teach in Year one! When I'm not at school I'll be with my children and dog on a muddy walk.
