Heatwave

We are in the middle of another heatwave. We still go to the woods if it is still safe for us to do so. We assess the temperature and have thermometers in the woods. It is a lot cooler inside the woods. We still have to cover arms and legs and wear shoes or trainers. This is to help prevent scratches and bites etc.

We always try to ask for children to bring appropriate clothes when we know in advance that it is going to be really hot. This means we don’t have to wear waterproofs.

Look at the pictures from today to see the children taking advantage of the coolest part of school.

Gilly

Forest School Practitioner

I started work as an SEND teacher and I... scratch that...As one of the children once told me "You're just Gilly who plays out with us and helps us to be safe." I'm sometimes a pirate, sometimes a Viking, sometimes the crazy story teller but I always aim to make it fun. I'm just Gilly and Forest School is my jam!
