Welcome to WCPS

I would like to say a big welcome to all the new families who are joining WCPS. Your child should have received a letter in the post today to say hello from their new teachers. I hope they enjoy reading it.  There are a few photos to help your child become familiar with the setting and more information will soon be available here through the blog and also on twitter.

WCPS Foundation stage is a 2 form entry setting. Your child will be placed in either Class 1 or Class 2 and will be assigned their own key worker throughout their time in foundation stage. Although they begin their school day in one classroom we do work as a unit and children are encouraged to play and learn across both F2 classrooms during the school day where they have access to a variety of resources. Children also have access to our wonderful outdoor classroom throughout the day which we use whatever the weather!

I have just posted a video of a tour of the outdoor area led by our Head Teacher Mrs Paddock. Head over to our twitter page to have a look.

Starting tomorrow I will be posting weekly challenges for children to take part in to help them get ready for starting school. I hope you will join in and post photos on our twitter page or as comments here on the blog.

I will shortly be in touch with all families via telephone to welcome you personally to school and I will also try to answer any questions you might have. Although this is a challenging time for everyone at the moment at WCPS we are determined to give your child a high quality transition to full time school.

Please get in touch if you have anything you would like to discuss.

Hi I’m Mrs Evans. This is my sixth year working in foundation stage and I love it! When I’m not at school I spend my time with my two daughters. We like to go to the caravan at the weekends especially when it’s raining so that we can get cosy and play lots of board games!
