Year 3 stepping back in time

Both year 3 classes have been to the woods this week and they have both blown my socks off – they are probably lost somewhere in history.

I have been really looking out for how children in school understand our school rules and put them into action when in the woods. These link so well with how we look after ourselves, each other and the woods.  There is no question  year 3 are on the ball and go beyond that. They demonstrated real kindness and thoughtful behaviours. Well done!

On top of that we talked about what history is or is it what history was?  They could answer this too and give some examples. In the woods we built time machines and thought about where we would go back to and why, and what we might see. I haved loved spending time with you all this week.

Gilly

Forest School Practitioner

I started work as an SEND teacher and I... scratch that...As one of the children once told me "You're just Gilly who plays out with us and helps us to be safe." I'm sometimes a pirate, sometimes a Viking, sometimes the crazy story teller but I always aim to make it fun. I'm just Gilly and Forest School is my jam!
